Disabilities Ministry

We believe that people with disabilities are created on purpose for a purpose. The church is one body with many parts, and we all have different gifts to offer. We are incomplete as a body of Christ without the gifts from people with disabilities. As a body of Christ, we have a responsibility to make the gospel accessible for all people, and this includes people with disabilities of all ages and their caregivers. We must recognize that we are all image bearers of Christ and every soul is worth saving. 

In Mark 2, we read a story about a paralyzed man being carried by four men and lowered from the roof into the house to see Jesus. These four men go above and beyond so that their friend can meet Jesus and be healed and forgiven. We need to have this same attitude and willingness to help people with disabilities experience Jesus to the fullest. As a body of Christ. We have a duty to create a space where all people can be known and seen and fully be clothed in the love of Christ. 

We currently have a buddy system so that children and adults with disabilities can be integrated into the mainstream classes with the support of a buddy. We also have sensory bags near the entrance of the building. We continue to make more progress and have other resources available as we recruit more volunteers and raise awareness.
