Elder Fraud Training
Elder Fraud Training Resources
The problem of frauds and scams has grown to a multi-billion dollar problem in the United States. Likely you, or someone you know, has been negatively impacted by this. The FBI reports that the average loss per reported incident is now over $38,000. The elderly are frequently targeted.
We have developed a free self-paced online training module that requires no registration and no email. We just want you and your family to be safe.
If you would like us to present to your church family, civic club, or seniors organization, please contact us. The run-of-show for the seminar can be downloaded below. You can use this same run-of-show to organize your own seminar.

Knowledge assessment and certificate
Our "Recognizing and Responding to Elder Fraud" training module now includes an optional 50-question Knowledge Assessment. This is useful as a final learning tool when you have completed the module. When you score above 80% on the Knowledge Assessment, you can download a Certificate of Completion.
The knowledge assessment is available from the Menu in the training module. Questions and answers are based on material presented and referenced in the training module. We encourage you to complete the Knowledge Assessment and get your friends to do the same! While successfully completing the Knowledge Assessment does not guarantee protection from all scams, it does show that you have taken significant steps to help protect yourself and others.
A special note to parents and grandparents
There is a significant increase in fraud and attacks against those age 17 years and younger, as reported by the FBI. Our Elder Fraud training module now includes a section called Special Topics, which can be accessed from the Learning and Resources page in the module. These Special Topics link to FBI reports and other resources. We encourage you to visit and read the reports on the topics of Sextortion, Financially Motivated Sextortion, and Violent Networks and Children. Malicious and dangerous individuals and groups are targeting children.
Learn how malicious individuals might approach your children or grandchildren. Understand visible and behavioral indications that a child is being targeted or influenced by these individuals or groups. These FBI reports also include guidance to share with children so that they know how to be safe. It could be that you, as a trained and knowledgeable parent or grandparent, will make all the difference in the lives of your children and grandchildren.
