Our Overlook

Our Overlook, August 2024

Important information about our Overlook

Several years ago, we decided to clear about an acre of our 12 acres of land behind our facility, believing it might reveal a nice view.  We were right!  On a clear day you can see for at least 25 miles to the west.  Needless to say, there are some spectacular sunsets.

We have seen people quietly enjoy the sunset in the evening.  Sometimes folks that are hurting will soak in God's wonders.  While we want those who are respectful of our church family and what we represent to enjoy the view, there have been some challenges.  Illegal and inappropriate activities have made our earlier generosity regarding our overlook something we cannot continue.

If you want to visit our property to enjoy the overlook, we ask that you read the following:

  • This is private church property and you are a guest.  Please be respectful of the place, our facilities, and others that are on our property.
  • Keep your speed below 10 mph and watch for pedestrians.  Be prepared to brake.
  • Our parking lot is not a commuter lot.  Please use the commuter lot on the other side of the Highway Patrol Troop I Headquarters.
  • If you want to visit during our worship times (see our home page), we would rather you worship with us.  Otherwise, refrain from visiting the overlook an hour before and an hour after our service times.
  • For your own safety and for others, we ask that you watch our short video on our Parking Lot Safety.
  • Unless you are there as part of an event scheduled through our church office, our property is closed from 30 minutes after sunset until 6:00 a.m. the next morning.  All group gatherings and events must be scheduled through our church office.
  • We employ multiple security and camera systems and work closely with the Rolla Police Department and MS&T Police.  If you are on the property when it is closed, for any reason other than an event scheduled through the church office, we have asked law enforcement to cite violators with criminal trespassing.
  • We do not allow the use of our property for business or personal financial gain.
If you are looking for a church home, we are an active and growing church family, and we invite you to come and visit us!  We would love to have you!
